Certified Seed: The Certified label assures purity of
contents, germination and genetic purity. Certified seed must be
produced from foundation or registered seed.
The Plant Variety Protection Act prohibits the unauthorized
use of all these protected varieties which have been granted protection
or has been applied for.

Ratings and descriptions are based on NC State tobacco variety trials.

Notice: Required Arbitration/Concilliation
The seed laws of several states including Florida, Georgia and South Carolina (Section 46-
21-260 require arbitration, conciliation or mediation of disputes involving alleged defective
seed before certain legal actions may be maintained against a seller. A complaint (sworn
for FL, SC, signed only, GA) must be filed with the Department of Agriculture within such
time to permit an inspection of seed, crops or plants (by an Arbitration Committee – SC).
Certified copy of complaint must be sent by registered mail to GoldLeaf Seed Co. as provided
in individual state law. Information about the requirement may be obtained from the state
Department of Agriculture. North Carolina offers an alternative to court action that allows
claims to be investigated and heard before the Special Seed Board.
